James H. Domengeaux, Jr. is a third-generation attorney for Domengeaux Wright Roy & Edwards LLC, following the footsteps of the firm’s founder and his great uncle, James Domengeaux; grandfather, the Honorable Jerome E. Domengeaux; and father, James H. Domengeaux, Sr. A native of Lafayette, James earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2014. After graduation, James studied at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, obtaining his Juris Doctorate in 2018. While at Loyola, James was on the Trial Advocacy Team. He also worked as a Rule 20 student at the Orleans District Attorney’s office as part of Loyola’s prosecution clinic program.

After law school, James moved back to Lafayette and clerked for the Honorable Patrick L. Michot of the Fifteenth Judicial District Court in Lafayette. Prior to joining the firm, James defended insurance companies and other businesses while working for a defense firm in Lafayette. His experience representing defendants in personal injury cases gives him a strategic advantage in preparing his cases for trial. James is a member of the Lafayette Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana. James is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts, and The United States District Court for the Western, Middle, and Eastern Districts of Louisiana.
