 Founder and Congressman James Domengeaux (1907 - 1988) | During the depression years of the 1930's, James Domengeaux began practicing law in Lafayette representing people in Lafayette Parish and South Louisiana. He was elected to Congress from Louisiana. Between the time he began practicing law in the 1930's and 1957 when Bob Wright joined him to create the modern day firm, James Domengeaux served two terms in the United States Congress. He also founded the Council for the Development of French in Louisiana (CODOFIL) for which he received international recognition. |
